  • Why was Cane Commitment developed?

    Cane Commitment was developed to enhance undergraduate students' lifelong competitive edge in the workforce. University of Miami's competencies are aligned with the AAC&U Value Rubrics (American Association of Colleges and Universities) and the NACE Career Readiness Competencies (National Association of Colleges and Employers).   • How can Cane Commitment enhance my competitive advantage?

    Students have a unique opportunity to explore a variety of experiences on a single platform. They can choose those that are intellectually stimulating, identify the relevant competencies and behavioral attributes, participate in the activities, and reflect on their experiences. This reflection process helps students articulate what they have learned and the competencies they have developed.

  • How do I earn badges?

    To earn badges, you will need to complete specific activities listed within the Activities menu in Suitable. Login with your UM email address on app.suitable.co/login

    The Getting Started achievement serves as an introduction to Cane Commitment and the Suitable app. Click here to get started

  • What is Suitable?

    Suitable provides an online platform for students to track their curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular experiences aligned with the core competencies. It utilzes a point system, within which students attain levels of competency. The points and levels correspond to digital badges for each of the six competencies. 

  • Who has access to Cane Commitment?

    All enrolled active undergraduate students at the University of Miami.

  • Who should participate in Cane Commitment?

    All University of Miami undergraduate students!

  • How can I navigate Suitable?

  • How can I share my badges with potential employers or institutions?

    Students can share their digital badges on social media platforms like LinkedIn, display them on their resumes, include them in job applications, or send them via email. Students can share their scorecard to LinkedIn or their individual badges.
